CommentAmino acids 281-670 of this protein comprise a distinct domain, which is 30% identical to NrtA. As in Synechococcus sp. strain PCC s7942, the C-terminal domain of NrtC has been shown to be involved in ammonium-promoted inhibition of nitrate/nitrite transport (T. Omata) ; Synergistic regulation of bicarbonate and nitrate transport, suggested by Koropatkin et al. (2006).
