CommentI believe the start codon assignment (2791688) is in error. That assignment causes the gene to engulf the right half of the split gene, trnfM, which ends at 2791748. That's an overlap of 39 nucleotides (almost 92% conserved with PCC7120's trnFM) plus 21 more near the intron splice site. This seems unlikely. Anabaena PCC 7120, Anabaena variabilis, Trichodesmium erythraeum, and Prochlorococcus SS120 orthologs begin at an ATG at a position corresponding to +141 or +144 of the PCC 6803 sequence (the N.punctiforme ortholog is annotated as beginning at a TTG at +117. There is an ATG codon in the PCC 6803 sequence at +135 as well as +97. The current start codon has a possible ribosome binding site and the +135 and +97 choices don't (which is no doubt why the program chose it), but even so, I suspect the assignment is wrong. The list of N-termini at CyanoBase has no information regarding Sll0917.
